On the occasion of Friendship Day this year, I attempted a prompt online and out came this poem, which also won by the way.

The one I grew up with

The one who held me through my teens

The one who’s fighting alongside

The one who’s mine by all means

The one who has my back

The one who has my heart

The one I am in love with

The one who stands by, as my guard

My sisters from another mother

Those from other generations

The ones who never gave up

All of us moving toward liberation

You all inspire me by being You

And that’s a feeling so deeply true ❤️
